As I mentioned in my last post, the third season of The Office was supposed to arrive on our doorstep last Thursday. Matt and I had to take an hour or so to talk about our upcoming fall schedule and catch up on our week since we were out late nearly every night before we delightfully ripped into that brown package. It is now Sunday evening and we have watched all four DVDs of the third season of The Office! We had a lot of work to do this weekend, but we still managed to sneak in a few episodes every time we sat down for a meal. We tried to spread it out as much as possible, but it was just too good. It certainly did not disappoint and most definitely exceeded our expectations! And I was once again reminded why I have a crush on Jim Halpert. I'm kinda sad it's all over. Bring on season 4!
On another note, my brain is on overload. I started a beginners Arabic class last week at the University of TX at Austin, through their University Extension program. The class of six is taught by a Palestinian professor and meets every Monday and Wednesday evenings. My concentration level during class is maxed out! I left my first class wondering, "What the heck am I doing!?" It's beyond intense. Two of our dear friends are full-time students at language school in Jordan learning Arabic; they just started their second year. After my two-hour class, I was able to get a glimpse of how laborious and taxing Arabic language acquisition can be for a native English speaker...and they're in class all day, 5 days a week! Bless them!
Now that we've finished one of our Office breaks, it's back to Arabic. Assalaamu Alaykum--"peace be upon you"!
