This and That

- When I wrote about Brennan’s bed-head here, I wasn’t kidding around:
- I’m going to be scarce around here for the next week or two (like I’m not already), but we have some fun travel adventures ahead of us! At least Brennan and I do; Matt has to stay at home to bring home the bacon. We’re ever so grateful!! First, Brennan and I might venture up to Dallas on Saturday with my folks to visit my aunt and uncle and my grandfather. Then on Monday, I’m flying solo with the babe to El Paso to visit my dear, dear friend, Corrie, who is in town from Jordan with her baby boy, Guy!!! Ya’ll, I can’t tell you how excited I am! We weren’t expecting to get to see each other for at least another year, but we have been so blessed by this unexpected gift to see each other and meet our baby boys, who are only four months apart. And well, I’m opting NOT to take the computer! I can always use a good separation from it every now and then.
- The three of us joined our special friends, Jimbo, Beth and little Amelia for breakfast last Saturday at The Omelettry. I once again devoured two humungous chocolate chip pancakes, two eggs, and three (or was is it four?) slices of bacon. How was it that I left still feeling hungry and wishing they’d given me three pancakes, I will never know. I’ve gotta do something about this appetite of mine or I’m going to be in hot diggity dog trouble! I loved these pictures that Beth took:
- Football starts next weekend!!! And I have a surprise for Uncle Mac. I’ll just leave it at that for now.
- Most importantly and least trivial of all my other “this and that’s” is a prayer request once again for our dear friends, Robert and Aimee. I first wrote about their journey walking through Robert’s treatment for testicular cancer here. The update they received in April was very good, but late July, they discovered the cancer has come back with aggressive force. They moved at rapidly fast pace to get Robert up to Indiana to start high doses of chemo and stem cell transplants to help him survive such high doses of chemo while Aimee went back to her parents’ place with her two little girls to await their birth of their son, who was born this very afternoon! If you want frequent updates and to view Robert’s videos, visit “Fighting Back”. They have a tough, tough journey ahead of them, but God is able! I know you all have prayed before and I humbly ask you to keep praying for them. If you’re on Facebook, there is a group called “Pray for Robert Feuille and his amazing family” that you can sign up for and it has specific prayer requests as well. Thank you.
God’s blessings, dear friends.
Don't worry about dieting...first of all you don't need to you look amazing. And secondly you have the rest of your life to do it just in case you wanted to:)
We will definitely be praying for your friend and their family.
Have a great trip.

i like that you act like you are sacrificing by "not taking your computer" when we all know you have an iPhone! And let's see how long it takes Mac to ask about his surprise.....aka when he reads the blog. Hehehehehe

good point about the iphone. :) i treat it very differently than the
computer though, which i tend to have 'on' all day long to check on things
when i have a moment (something I want to change). but yes, it's still a
tie. maybe i should throw it away.
nah!

Yay! See you soon! I love the bedhead look. It's so cute. Plus, I've been ordered to watch college football while I'm in town (as if I needed to be told). It's the best time of year.

Aimee was in our MOPS group last spring. Many of us have been praying for their family for a while now. Small world. I don't know her well, but am so heartbroken for them. I know God is sovereign...
Have fun and safe travels!

Oh and good for you not taking your computer with you! I'll be "fasting" myself while at Mo Ranch this weekend. I might even give up the iPhone for a couple of days!

He looks so adorable with his "bedhead!" Have a great time on your trip--it's wonderful that you're getting to see your old friend.
