Matt and I are blessed to celebrate our seventh wedding anniversary today! Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t help but think of the phrase most of you are likely familiar with:  the “seven year itch”, a term which signifies a declining interest in the monogamous relationship, or taking a close evaluation of it. Sadly, I read something that because of the alarming increase in divorces and the new average length of a marriage, the phrase should more appropriately be called the “two year itch”. But I digress.

I’ll humbly confess that this past year has probably been one of our top two difficult years of marriage (our other being our second year of marriage). Being given the greatest gift we’ve received in our precious babe, particularly after six years of being just “us”, didn’t come without its adjustments, communication quirks, stress, hiccups, and rollercoaster emotions. And the good Lord knows there were emotions. Lots of ‘em. Just the same, because of that precious bundle, it’s also been the best year of our lives. So today we celebrate not just the fun, wonderful memories of our courtship and marriage (as pictured by each significant moment below), but also the more difficult, stressful times that we’ve walked through together, completely by the grace of God.

The only way I’m itchin’ is itchin’ for more! Happy Anniversary, my love! You are a gift beyond my wildest dreams!
